ABOUT APRIL
I believe fitness should help you get more out of life
Getting fitter shouldn't mean cutting out the foods you love, following endless rules or feeling like you need to organise your life around training.
But with new diets, workouts and conflicting advice everywhere you look, it can be difficult to know what will genuinely help. Maybe you've downloaded plans that didn't fit into your life, feel too confused by all the conflicting information online that you don't know where to start, or you're already putting in the effort but wondering why you're not getting the results you expected.
I believe there's a better way to approach it.
Training and nutrition should work with your life - giving you the strength, fitness, energy and confidence to do more of the things that matter to you.
You don't need another set of rules to follow. You need to understand what matters for you, have a clear direction, and know how to adapt when real life inevitably gets in the way - so you can stop feeling like you're constantly starting over and start building the strength, fitness and confidence to do more of the things you want from life.
And that's exactly what I can help you achieve.

That's why I created
Aslett Performance & Nutrition
Hi, I'm April 👋

I'm a Registered Dietitian, Personal Trainer, Yoga Teacher and Army Reserve Physical Training Instructor - but I definitely haven't always been someone who loves exercise.
Before joining the military, I hated exercise and gave very little thought to fitness or healthy eating. But over time, I discovered just how much becoming stronger and fitter could add to my life.
I've now spent more than 15 years in the military and over 8 years working in health and fitness. Along the way, I've run marathons, completed multi-day cycling adventures, built strength in the gym, hiked in the mountains, and even completed a season of Nordic skiing.
These days, I love a challenge.
Not because I think everyone needs to compete, chase numbers or spend their life training, but because I've experienced first-hand the confidence and opportunities that being fitter and stronger can bring.
Fitness has taken me from someone who avoided exercise to someone who actively seeks out things that test what I can do.
And that's what I love helping other people discover: what being fitter could allow you to do.
I don't believe fitness is about taking up less space

For a long time, the fitness and nutrition industries have sold progress through how we look.
Lose weight. Get smaller. Burn more calories. Eat less.
But there are other ways to measure progress:
Getting your first pull-up.
Running further than you thought you could.
Walking into a gym and knowing what you're doing.
Feeling stronger in everyday life.
Having the energy to train and recover.
Signing up for something that once felt intimidating.
Or simply realising that your body can do more than you gave it credit for.
That's the kind of progress I'm interested in.
Evidence without the noise
There's an overwhelming amount of fitness and nutrition information available, and not all of it deserves your attention.
My job isn't to give you more rules to follow.
It's to take the science, combine it with professional judgement and turn it into clear, practical guidance that makes sense for you.
I want you to understand what you're doing and why, rather than feeling dependent on someone else to make every decision for you.
The goal is to build your knowledge, confidence and skills alongside your strength and fitness.
What matters to me
EVIDENCE
Your health deserves better than trends and quick fixes. My work is grounded in evidence, professional standards and a commitment to continuing to learn.
ADVENTURE
Being fit can open doors. I want to help you build a body that lets you say yes to more of the things you want to experience.
KINDNESS
Progress doesn't require punishment. There is room for ambition and high standards without losing compassion for yourself along the way.
COURAGE
Sometimes progress means doing something that feels uncomfortable - walking into the gym for the first time, trying something new or setting a goal you're not entirely sure you can achieve yet.
EXCELLENCE
I care about doing things properly. That means thoughtful programming, high professional standards and continually developing my knowledge so I can give you the best support I can.
